Some changes to my writing and life...

writing

Have you ever been trying to pick up a new story, you have everything ready, then something pulls you away? I was fully ready to start writing my series Mother of New over the summer, and I was excited as it's been so long since I've written a first draft of a new story.

However, I felt the passion for an older project that has been on the shelf for about two years finally reignite. If you go to my Writing Projects Page you can read over my current projects and see that there is a Viking inspired series I have been writing for a long time. It is actually my longest writing project that I've never fully shelved.

Anyway, I am pleased to say although Mother of New is on hold for right now, I am starting on draft four of Surrender, the first book in the tentatively titled series Valkyrie's Victory. This was the very first story I committed to writing several drafts of, from my first NaNoWriMo in 2019, till now as I am starting to read through the third draft and make notes for revisions.

It's amazing to come back to writing I have let sit for so long, seeing how my writing has improved but also retained a sense of the same style. Although this draft is still messy, I love the heart of the story and this book has been a passion project of mine throughout my teen hood.

Life

So, in addition to writing updates, I have been happy to say that I am graduating from and am finally completing my secondary education. It feels strange that my teenage years are coming to a close and I am growing up. This summer, I will be starting college and starting to get some general classes out of the way for an English degree.

I am also preparing to move out for the first time in my life for college in the fall semester, and am so excited and scared all at the same time.

Recently, I have found an amazing Greek musical album called Epic: The Musical. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves mythology, and I am vibing to the song "Ruthlessness" from the album as I type this out right now. This fan animation of the song is so, well, epic.

I hope to maybe make more posts on this blog now that I have more free time from school. Today, I officially finished by taking my final exam in math.

If you'd like to see a concept trailer for Surrender, here it is!
